Huh
My body is very weird. I was kind of despairing of ever losing any weight during my training period for the 10 miler. I was just bouncing up and down between 148 and 150. Yesterday I was 149. Today? 147! Still you'd think I'd have lost more than 3-4 pounds during these last 2 months. I'm creating pretty large caloric deficits even with a couple extra days of drinking or eating thrown in.
However, I then looked at my body fat percentage. When I started this I was 151 pounds, and 32% body fat. I'm now 147 pounds and 29% body fat.
That means when I started I was 102.68 pounds of muscle/bone/organs/water/etc. and 48.32 pounds of fat. (Eew! Heh.) Now I'm 104.37 pounds of muscle, etc. and 42.63 pounds of fat (much better!)
So I've lost almost 6 pounds of fat, and gained almost 2 pounds of (hopefully) muscle. In two months! Yay me!
And I also took a couple pictures and compared them to pictures I took before I started. There's a huge difference in how my body looks. Especially the views from the side and behind. I'm getting smaller! Even if there hasn't been a dramatic change on the scale. :)
Yesterday was a TERRIBLE 4 mile run. It was just really hard, and I was worrying over my left knee even though there wasn't any pain. Awful awful awful. My right hip was sore, I developed a cramp. 4 miles! That's not even half way through my 10 miler! And it was much harder than my 6 mile run two weeks ago. I'm going to baby myself a bit the next few days. A few extra carbs before my run, more sleep, more stretching, ice, some walking thrown into the mix with my running. (I will walk my 2 mile training run tonight.) And HOPEFULLY I'll be ready for my 7 mile long run on Saturday.
Wish me luck!
